Important information

Our mission is to promote camel guides of the oasis of Ksarghilane, in a spirit of solidarity. Ksarghilane.org works in collaboration with local agencies in order to arrange for transfers and authorizations. To register, please provide us with your Passports details.

Be careful:

Trekking in the Sahara during summer (mid-May to mid- September) is not permitted because of hot temperatures. Small strolls are proposed in the morning or at the end of the day (to take advantage of the sunset). You can go and return from the ruins of the Roman fortress in 2 hours. For more information, please contact us.

Passport is required to enter Tunisia.

Please note that you are responsible for your own health, accident, voyage insurance.

A visa card through cashpoint machines delivers only 200 TDN a week. Ensure with your bank prior to your departure, that you have increased your possibility to debit or take enough cash with you.

Sleeping bag, headlamp, thermic underwear for night (temperature differences between the day and night are impressive), sunscreen, sunglasses hat or Arabic scarf, personal first aid kit, biodegradables swipes, lighter to burn the toilet paper, light shoes or sandals, loose closing for walking adapted to the local culture. (Since the sand goes inside everything you should have a good cap protection for your camera and if it is not waterproof, plastic zip bags are convenient).

Since water is an extremely precious resource in the desert, your toilet will be reduced to basic washing. We recommend you consider this a way to go back to living simply.

Rubbish: We value the desert and place great importance on keeping it clean; therefore, it is essential that you “leave no trace” in every part of the desert you pass through.
